- The trick moves now have an instruction manual to help you along.
Cons
- The game simply cannot hold up against some of the newer titles.
Almost one year since the release of FIFA 06, EA Sports has launched the long-awaited sequel FIFA 07 for the PC, and you will love what this new game has to offer you. In the last year's title, you could only describe it as the best game ever made for the FIFA franchise, but we have seen major improvements in the newest title. Unfortunately, not every one of the changes have been implemented since the last year's title, but we have seen more than enough of the requested improvements that it makes for a brilliant game.
The Pitch: It Plays Differently?
When we look at the pitch of this game, you notice how FIFA 07 plays different from its predecessor. While figuring out exactly what changed can be difficult, we think one of the most obvious changes to the new game is how players can choose to either decelerate or accelerate in a more realistic fashion. For example, you can't turn quite as quickly as what you could in FIFA 06, but this is okay because it adds to the realism of the game mechanics. What are the results? You will have to pass the ball more often, but this might also depend on your playing style. You might also find how you have to face off mano-a-mano in more situations than ever before. You will have to pass more, which can lead to a little more challenge because this leaves you open to more opportunities for your opponent to intercept the ball.
How to Pass Successfully
In the latest title, your success for passes and taking shots will largely depend on how you have positioned your players and balanced them for the shot. Unfortunately, trick moves have become increasingly difficult in the latest title because you have a lower success rate with them. In addition, the controls are unforgiving, and if you make a mistake, it can cost you a point in the goalie net.
Instruction Manual for the Trick Moves
Believe it or not, FIFA 07 includes an instruction manual with all the trick moves, which can be helpful to reference on occasion. It somewhat looks like the special moves list that you might encounter in a game like Mortal Kombat. The tricks available will depend on whether or not you are idle or running on the field.
Should you download FIFA 07? The game holds an important place in the franchise's history, and the developers somewhat upped the challenge since the previous year. Scoring goals always feels fun, but even the goalkeepers have upped their game since the previous title. It's worth checking out if you don't mind how this game is over a decade old.

- You will enjoy a more fun and realistic gameplay.
- The trick moves now have an instruction manual to help you along.

- Easier to score free kicks

An immersive football experience with more leagues than ever
FIFA 2007 is the 14th version of the epic football simulator from EA Sports and as with each incarnation, there are plenty of new features and developments as the series moves towards the dream of a photo-realistic game of football.
New Features for FIFA 2007
As ever, the graphics engine has been upgraded, with players faces more recognisable and a brand new running system to remove the jerkiness from the gameplay. Beyond the visible side, other new features for FIFA 2007 include:
• Improved free kicks - one of the biggest frustrations in previous versions of the game was not being able to score free kicks from "easy" positions just outside the area. The mechanics in FIFA 2007 allows players to add more curl to fool the goalkeeper when taking a free kick.
• More leagues - 27 leagues are now represented from 20 countries, allowing players to play through promotion and relegation in different seasons. The FIFA legal team also went all out to get over 10,000 players fully registered, bringing an end to slightly mispelled player names and fake teams.
• More responsive crowds - the crowd engine saw a big overall, with traditional chants and songs being sung at the relevant grounds. For example, players playing at Anfield would be treated to a rousing rendition of You'll Never Walk Alone. The crowds were also made to respond better to action on the pitch, with the home team receiving louder noises, and away goals being booed.
• New ball physics - new passing and shooting mechanics makes the game feel much more realistic, and the ball physics means you can add top and back spin to just about any kick of the game. The ball will also move differently in response to different weather conditions as well as the energy level of the players and the state of the pitch.
• Individual player strengths taken into account - the last big improvement on the pitch is the way in which the shot and pass mechanisms take into account which foot the player has kicked with and whether this is their stronger foot. It will make a lot of difference to the power and accuracy, meaning players need to develop timing and positioning from crosses and through balls.
• Interactive leagues - there is still a strong FIFA 2007 online community which stems from the ability to play interactive versions of four major leagues around the world, including the Premier League and Bundesliga. The fixture lists are drawn up from the current season, and players choose the club they support in real life to represent in each game week.

- Easier to score free kicks
- Plenty of league options
Cons
- Online gameplay can lag depending on internet speed
- Manager mode results unrealistic

Play as one of the best soccer teams in the 2006 season.
This is a game that features a lot of action. You can choose from one of the top soccer teams that played during the 2006-2007 season. The details of the game are impeccable, but the players do sometimes look like robots on the field. There are competitors with the names of their real-life counterparts. Each team can be customized to make the players a little more unique.
One of the things to keep in mind is that it does take a while to load this game. If your computer system isn't recent, gameplay can be slow as well because there's a lot of complex action in the game. While playing, you can hear the crowd cheer and chant as you run up and down the field. They will scream when you get a goal, and music is played between each quarter. A good addition to the game is the modern music; it will get you in the right mood to play a game of soccer.
As you control the players, you'll see that the movements are more precise in comparison to some of the other soccer games on the market. It does take a few tries to get accustomed to the buttons that direct the players. You may also create game plays so that the team can trick its opponents in order to get the ball to the goal. A schedule is created that coordinates with the actual schedule of the team that you choose. This means that when the team plays in real life, you have a chance to play the game as well.
Pros
- Amazing graphics
- Easy gameplay
- Uses names of real players in the league
Cons
- Can be slow
- Some of the players look robotic
